Antique dark pitch pine church pew or hall seat made in the 1920s probably. Most likely this has been cut down to a more useful length than it would have been. The wood has its original mid brown stained varnish. The ends are shaped and one side has a number painted on it. Central seat support; tongue and groove back. Condition is pretty good structurally: it's solid and sound though currently it rocks forward slightly on the back boards; we'll sort this by trimming them or putting small feet on the bottom. Cosmetically it's quite marked with scuffs, scratches and worn areas of varnish; some holes and chips where it was screwed to the floor; a split in the boards below the seat (see pics). It could all be stripped and re finished but you'd probably lose as much as you'd gain. We've kept the price reasonable to reflect the condition.
